SESATS IX 1.2

Self Education Self Assessment in Thoracic Surgery (SESATS) is a valuable tool designed for both training and practicing Thoracic Surgeons aiming to showcase their cognitive abilities within the field. The program comprehensively covers thoracic surgical disorders of the lung, chest wall, mediastinum, acquired and congenital heart disease, as well as critical care issues. Users are presented with multiple-choice questions related to these topics and are given the opportunity to respond. The flexibility of the assessment allows users to determine the level of difficulty by opting for single or multiple attempts to answer correctly. Some questions are accompanied by relevant images, videos, or CT scans, while all questions come with explanatory critiques and literature references that can be accessed post-attempt.

This application is part of a series developed to revisit prior SESATS examination queries. The initial app, CardioThoracic Study Questions, was published in October 2011 and featured the SESATS VIII question set. The current version showcases the SESATS IX question set. SESATS 11 is the most up-to-date iteration and is the recommended version for certification maintenance as of the latest update. Therefore, while the current question set is a valuable educational resource for aspiring Thoracic Surgeons, it's important to note that certain content may be outdated and might not align with the latest advancements and practices in Thoracic Surgery.
